Yes. MSU offers training courses from the very basics of using the operating systems to advanced classes for software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe products. You can also get extensive training in MSU systems such as ANGEL. Courses are done either on campus or at New Horizons locations. For most training classes that are offered through LCTTP (Libraries, Computer & Technology Training Program), faculty and academic staff are eligable for the Automatic Fee Waiver Program.

What happens to old computers when they are replaced?
After a computer has been replaced, we will recycle the used computer. It will be used as a spare machine, for spare parts, or could even be put back to use for Graduate Assistants. Determinations are made at the time the machine is replaced. Equipment that is not recycled for use is sent to MSU Salvage for disposal.
Why am I getting an error saying I must register with the DHCP service?
For security reasons, any computer that is connected to the MSU network must be registered with a valid and authorized MSU NetID. This prevents someone from off the street from plugging in and using the MSU network. It is also a means to trace security issues, should they arise.
If a computer has not accessed any network resources for a period of 60 days, its registration is automatically deleted. This issue is very common within the first few weeks of the fall semester, as faculty have been gone for the summer. Should this happen to you, follow these instructions to re-instate your internet access:
- Click here to go to http://dhcp.msu.edu
- Log in using your MSU NetID and password
- Click on "Register your Computer"
- Fill in the form and click on "Register"
- Restart your computer
When your computer has restarted, you should have full access to the internet.
